Natural Techniques to Banish Facial Lines and Wrinkles
The signs of aging skin are well known to most, fine lines, crow’s feet, smile and frown lines, droopy skin, and wrinkles. While aging is natural, many of us try to turn back the clock by using expensive anti-aging moisturizers and even cosmetic surgery procedures to banish facial lines and wrinkles. Luckily, there are several safe and natural solutions you can use at home (many found in your fridge or cupboards) to achieve younger-looking skin:
1. Egg whites
Egg whites are known for their protein-packed punch that tightens and nourishes pores, resulting in naturally smooth and lightened aging skin. The abundance of raw amino acids within egg whites allow the human body to use them as raw materials to rebuild the protein structure of your skin. This can banish fine lines and wrinkles, and result in the diminished appearance of scars, the disappearance of fine lines and sagging, and even the prevention of breakouts. It’s easy to see why using egg whites on your skin is sometimes called a “natural face lift.”
2. Lemon juice
Putting lemon juice into your water can greatly improve the appearance of aging skin. Lemon has a reputation as an incredible detoxifying agent, and this applies to skincare as well. Combining water with lemon juice results in a mixture rich in Vitamin C and Citric Acid, both of which can help to cleanse pores and lighten the appearance of skin. Lemon juice is empirically excellent for scars and other marks, as the Citric Acid is able to break them down while the Vitamin C nourishes the skin.
3. Olive oil
Olive oil is known to be an incredible anti-aging skin care agent that can smooth wrinkles and eliminate fine lines quickly. The oil creates a barrier between your skin and the air, preventing the hydration already present in your skin from being leached away over time. Research has also shown that the fatty acids contained within olive oil can prevent stress on your skin from oxidative stress, one of the main culprits for sagging or wrinkly skin. All in all, olive oil is an excellent alternative to traditional moisturizers that can result in healthier, younger looking skin; however, a fair warning to the acne-prone: the oil can clog pores if used too heavily or too often.
4. Coconut oil
Hailed by some as the holy grail of skincare, coconut oil has a long and varied list of properties that can improve the appearance of aging skin. As a natural oil, it can be used as a moisturizer in much the same way as olive oil (same warning applies). It can also be used to treat scarring and marking, as the fatty acids contained in coconut oil rebuild and smooth skin structure. This has the added benefit of tightening the skin to reduce sagging. One of the other main attractions to using coconut oil on skin is the fact that it contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can further tighten the skin and reduce sagging. Coconut oil is high in both Lauric Acid and Vitamin E, both of which are known to smooth, lighten, and repair skin. Coconut oil is an excellent alternative to other skincare products due to its long list of potential benefits, and can be used in a multitude of ways to result in younger-looking skin.
